Products worth the $$

In my role as editor of Nashville Lifestyles, I get to try multiple brands of cosmetics, skincare and even energy drinks. Every PR firm is pitching the 'next big thing'. Sometimes I discover fab items, on other occasions am sorely disappointed... and then there are cases when my finds come far from magazine deliveries or research. Most often, I fall in love with inexpensive drug-store goodies, but on occasion, invest in luxe products after hearing great things. These are a few of the products I've picked up lately on personal time based on glowing reviews. All are now 'must haves' in my quest for looking as good as possible:

Works especially well if you massage it in for a few moments. Soak up the healing power...

For starters, I found an eyecream at Maxwell Aesthetics  in Nashville that InStyle magazine continues to tout as the best on the market. After only a few days of trial, I understand what all of the fuss is about for Neocutis Lumiere eye cream. Instant tightening helps my (sadly) inherited puffy under-eye syndrome and I can already see a difference in fewer dark circles. At $80 a pop, it isn't cheap.... but a little goes a long way. AND, the result is completely worth it. Splurge on one bottle and I promise it will be money well spent (and in your budget going forward).

The slogan via the creator "not to prime is a crime" rings true once you've tried it. Truly fantastic!

Another incredible line I found via promises in the spring collection book from Bergdorf Goodman. And, who doesn't believe what's on those pages? In this case, the claims made about Napoleon Perdis products were straight forward and life-changing. This line's Auto Pilot Primer completely transforms the makeup application process and prolongs staying power like no other product I've ever tried. Weightless.. and great for the skin, too.

I chose natural as my color, but there's a fitting shade for every skin tone.

The Camera Finish Foundation really is a steal at $45. When combined with the primer, you get flawless coverage and a perfect finish. The bonus is calling directly to Bergdorf's, their fab staff sent me a stash of samples and freebies to try with my purchases. So much more fun than a boring online order!

What is your latest and greatest find in the beauty arena? I would love to know, so please do share on the Southern Sophisticate.
