New York, New York

I heart NYC. Always have, always will. Even while cursing carrying media kits to client meetings in the freezing rain, there's an energy that is undeniable. Could I live there? Absolutely not. But, I enjoy visiting friends and clients that do. On my most recent trip for Nashville Lifestyles magazine, there were some very special moments.  I got to meet so many facinating people during the All for the Hall events for the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Who knew NYC had so many affluent Country Music fans? We were even treated to a cocktail reception at the Park Avenue penthouse of stylish and generous hostess, Jamie Tisch. (For a slideshow of the star-studded evening, click here: http://tinyurl.com/ao7cywh).

Along the way, I stopped into favorite shops on Madison Avenue including Diptytique, Ralph Lauren, Vince and my FAVORITE pharmacy on the planet, Zitomer's. Fortunately, I was housed within steps of these fab shops on the 33rd floor of what I consider the quissential New York City hotel, The Carlyle. There's not a more perfect locale, better service or more attentive staff in the city. Those who spend their dollars at new places or high profile chains are missing out.

If you are seeking celebrity treatment and top-tier amenities combined with unparalleled views and luxe accommodations, this is the spot. Nicole Kidman agrees, and told me over conversation in a suite watching a Titans game last fall that The Carlyle is her favorite. I concur, and after visiting multiple times over the last 10 years (peppered with stays in the 'latest' spot), it remains at the top of my list. On this trip, at the VERY TOP as I could seriously see the entire city from my high floor haven. And, when it came time to head out for the evening, the glam team at Yves Durif salon made me feel totally at home and prepped me for a night out in with expert hair styling and makeup by Sisley.

 When not beating the streets working or enjoying my accommodations, I did manage to make new friends, particularly those preparing to open a second location of Chelsea's popular Tippler  (coming soon to the ground floor of the Adelecia in Midtown Nashville -yay!). The same crew also entertained me at their (new) hot-spot restaurant, Harlow inside the historic Lombardy Hotel. I've never been in a more gorgeous restaurant or been that blown away by food and cocktail presentation.
